The program spans across two days and includes keynotes, interactive sessions on ideation and hands-on sessions of rapid prototyping of applications.
Day one: Focuses on knowledge and perspectives on the IoT landscape to provide an overall awareness.
Day two: Follows up with a complete process of building a prototype solution for a current industry problem.
The prototyping experience will enable the participants to build real solutions in their domains with a potential for implementing the solutions within a short time to the market.
Background and Objectives:
The Internet of Things (IoT) provides the capability to innovate systems that impact the way of life, as we know it now. The impact of these systems is pervasive and impacts all industry segments. It turns out that these systems are the building blocks for Smart Cities and everything Smart.
At the core of IoT systems are sensor devices that provide the sensing, digitising and communication functions. Tying together such devices, functionally, harvesting the sensed data and analysing the data is expected to provide deep insights into the systems.
With this, innovative applications can be developed for addressing complex societal problems. This requires knowledge of sensors and the associated technologies, and an understanding of the tools and platforms available to develop and validate the implementations. Importantly, issues around data collection, curation and RoI needs to be understood properly. Entrepreneurship enables taking the solution to market and deployment.
This workshop is designed to provide this holistic knowledge in an interactive manner with talks from experts, and hands-on sessions for implementations.
Join us on the 17 and 18 October 2017 to gain this knowledge through experiential learning and interact with experts and peers working in IoT and entrepreneurship.
By the end of this event, you should have:
1. A fair understanding of sensor technologies
2. An experience of the tools and platforms to develop an IoT application by attempting to develop a prototype solution for a real problem
3. An understanding of the approach to entrepreneurship in the IoT market space
Teams will have an opportunity to pitch their prototype to an expert panel in a ‘Dragon’s Den’ style session.
Places are limited. Book Early to avoid disappointment.
