10 Jun LCR 4.0 partners welcome royal VIP
HRH Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, recently paid a visit to the brand new Hartree Centre facility at Sci-Tech Daresbury to officially open the new building.
His Royal Highness is patron of Sci-Tech Daresbury and devotes much of his time to promoting British science, technology and engineering expertise which LCR 4.0 is at the forefront of.
The Hartree Centre’s high-performance computing and data analytics research facility was founded by the UK government in collaboration with IBM and gives SMEs signed up to the LCR 4.0 programme access to unrivalled expertise in this field.
The royal visit included a tour of the new facility which brings together LCR 4.0 project partners, the University of Liverpool’s Virtual Engineering Centre (VEC) and the Hartree Centre under one roof, along with IBM and the Science and Technology Facilities Council’s (STFC) Scientific Computing Division.
The move to the new building will enable even more collaborative and innovative projects to be developed at Sci-Tech Daresbury between the VEC and Hartree Centre.
