01 Mar The Manufacturer is headed for Liverpool
Leading industry event, The Manufacturer Live, is coming to Liverpool. Made up of a series of interlocking events which will form Digital Manufacturing Week, SMEs will have the opportunity to meet over 4,000 of the UK’s high-growth manufacturers, key manufacturing OEM’s, industrial accelerators, hardware-startups, finance and 4IR solution providers.
Commenting on what the event means for the region, sector manager at Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership ― one of the LCR 4.0 project partners ― Simon Reid, said: “Having The Manufacturer Live in Liverpool will help establish the city as a location synonymous with manufacturing excellence. Liverpool is often thought of for its rich maritime and cultural heritage but our manufacturing history is equally as strong. Over a quarter of a million cars are made here every year and the city region is also home to the Europe’s biggest bio-manufacturing cluster.
“Local firms will have one of the UK’s foremost industry-specific events right on their doorstep, showcasing cutting edge technology and thought leadership in manufacturing. This is hugely powerful; normally businesses in the Liverpool City Region would have to travel to the other end of the country or even abroad to access such an opportunity.
“For LCR 4.0, the event will serve as the first in what we hope will be a series of opportunities to demonstrate 4IR in action. We will be hosting a technology and processes showcase provided by Liverpool City Region SMEs who have gone through the LCR 4.0 programme. This will provide an unrivalled opportunity for other SMEs to see how they can get to grips with 4IR in simple, practical, affordable and effective ways. This is where the real value of LCR 4.0 is and this is a premium chance to properly showcase it at national level.”
It was announced that The Manufacturer Live would be coming to Liverpool at an official launch event at the House of Commons at the end of February 2017.
CEO of Hennik Group, publishers of The Manufacturer and organisers of the events, Nick Hussey, said: “It was wonderful to see so many senior people from the manufacturing community at our launch event, the atmosphere was alive and it is clear that there is a real buzz around UK manufacturing at present.
“We are delighted to have secured Santander as headline sponsor for The Manufacturer MX Awards and to have our on-going relationship with the Institution of Mechanical Engineers [IMechE] reinforced by the President Jon Hilton.
“We are also delighted by the calibre of sponsors we have secured on our Top 100 people in manufacturing project, with Salesforce reaffirming their commitment to the manufacturing sector, and Autodesk taking a key position across the Leaders Conference, the Awards and the Top 100.”
The Manufacturer Live will be at the Exhibition Centre, Liverpool from 15th – 16th November 2017.
